Hey guys! It’s been a while! Today’s Monday, so I’ve got the usual workout recap, but instead of moments of magic, I wanted to have more of an update chat because it’s been a while. So go get yourself some kombucha (’cause I’ve been LOVING that lately), and let’s chat.
Updates
This past week wasn’t the easiest for me for a whole variety of reasons. I had three big exams, was running on extremely low sleep, and was just feeling both physically and emotionally exhausted. Part of it was just this whole semester it feels like I can’t get fully on top of anything. If ever I feel like I have it all figured out, it won’t be long until I feel like I’m flailing again. But it’s also been hard to feel like I’m putting in a lot of work that is not fully reflected in my results. Like I’m working hard, but I still don’t feel like I’m my BEST, you know? At the same time, I think this is good for me. Though I’ve come a long way from my old perfectionistic tendencies, part of me still gets affected by small failures more than I care to admit. It’s a work in progress, though, as am I.
I cannot wait for Easter break. Bless Georgetown for giving us two breaks in the span of two months. But also I wish they were a little bit more spread out so that it wouldn’t be just a never-ending span after Easter. But alas, it is what it is, and I’ll be going home this coming Wednesday. I’m just really excited to sleep, relax, and spend time with my best friends and family. I feel like it’s exactly what I need.
I talked here about how I was feeling like I might want to talk to someone, just about certain things that have been bothering me lately. Thankfully, anxiety hasn’t really been bothering me too much, but I still don’t like the feeling of my brain being a hamster wheel and just not feeling at my most confident right now. So I’m going to meet with one of my favorite mentor figures on campus this Tuesday and hopefully just let it all out.
In the span of three days this past week, I watched three movies– The Force Awakens, Lord of the Rings: Twin Towers, and Ladybird. The first two I’ve seen before, but Ladybird was a long time coming. I thought it was an incredible film, but I also do understand why it didn’t win Best Picture. I think it’s incredible in a more understated, quiet, not sensational way, whereas the Oscars like movies that really push all boundaries. I thought it was a beautiful and quite relatable film, though, and I’m really impressed with the acting and directing in ย making it just so…real. Much recommended! (I also plan to rewatch it with my mom over Easter break).
I’ve been looking into what I’m doing this summer, and it’s been pretty exciting. Nothing is certain yet, but I have a lot of things in the works, and I will definitely keep you all posted as I know more. I have a few goals for this summer, some more lofty than others, which I’m excited to see if I can see through. I really want to take this summer to learn and try and explore, so I’m doing my best to manifest that reality by reaching out to whomever I can.
I went to brunch with Roomie the other day to A Baked Joint, which was so nice. I had a greek yogurt bowl, and then I realized I was REALLY craving a baked good, and being in A Baked Joint, you really shouldn’t walk away without a baked good. So I got a black and white cookie, which I haven’t had in years probably, but I actually really like! That plus the most amazing iced almond milk latte rounded out a wonderful brunch. ๐
Favorites
And now for some favorites lately because I’ve been meaning to do a Favorites post for a while and kept getting sidetracked by other post ideas. ๐
The Crown
Something about this show just makes my soul so happy. Maybe it’s my deep-seated obsession with England. Maybe the regal-ness of it, the magnificence. But it’s just very ME, and I’ll be so upset when I’m done with this season because the next two are coming out only at the end of next year urghhh!
Kombucha
Mentioned this already, but you guys, kombucha and i have been having a MOMENT since a little before spring break. My favorite flavor is Trilogy from the Synergy GTS company. I just wish it wasn’t so pricey, but I usually just get a bottle or two for the week and try to make them last. LOL it always takes me like two days max to drink, but ya know, nobody’s perfect. ๐
Perfect bars
I’ve talked about this before, but I seriously adore these. Like more than I wish I did because they’re quite expensive. They’re also a bit higher in sugar than I normally prefer in a bar, but somehow, it’s not at all overpowering. They also keep me full as long as any of my other breakfasts, and they’re just super convenient. On days that I know I want to sleep in a bit and not worry about making breakfast, it’s super easy to just eat on the walk run to class.
My New Glasses!
LOL, so I haven’t gotten new glasses since 7th grade (I KNOW), so it’s been quite a necessary change. It’s funny ’cause my old glasses were still in pretty good condition, but I just didn’t feel like they were ME enough anymore. So I got these from Warby Parker, and I’ve been loving them. They’re different, but I think they do suit my personality. ๐
Workouts
Monday- this cardio routine + this arm workout and this one
Tuesday- rest (read: lots and lots of studying hehe)
Wednesday- this hiit workout + this one + this butt and ab sequence (my butt was like LOL WHAT after this)
Thursday- arm strength routine + 20 min treadmill (I REALLY don’t like the treadmill usually, but I was having a pretty crappy day and was just craving a run like nothing else. Since it was really cold outside, I sucked it up and went on the treadmill. And then coupled with throwing around some weights, I was like a different person by the time I left the gym haha.)
Friday- 15 min spin bike (trying something new haha) + this crazy ab workout that left me sore for DAYZZZ.
Saturday- this yoga routine and this stretching sequence
Sunday- I tweaked my ankle yesterday, which means a solid rest day today as well as any day in the coming future where it doesn’t feel fully okay. I definitely don’t want to risk injuring it or making it worse by working out right away.
That’s all for me today, loves! Let me know what you’ve been doing and loving lately! <3

Thew new glasses look fabulous and congratulations on working through perfectionism (never easy) and anxiety. I remember the stress of school and how I looked forward to those breaks. Enjoy.

You’re so right, and thank you!!! Have a great week!

You are so impressively self aware. To even know that your thoughts are racing around and that you just aren’t feel your full self is huge – not something a lot of people are able to do – and the fact that you consciously want to work toward changing this so that you feel more confident again….. girl. Power to you. I really hope that the talk with your mentor/friend and this next break at home can offer you the grounding you are looking for. That perfectionist voice is one that we will need to watch our entire lives. Oh to feel proud and satisfied with ourselves for knowing we have done ENOUGH. That’s what we work toward.
I need someone to send me a perfect bar to finally know what all you are raving so much about.

Oh my gosh Cora, your comments seriously never fail to make my day. Thank you. That’s funny, this is the second time someone has called me self-aware in the past couple days, so perhaps I should pay some attention to that aspect of me. Break will hopefully be just what the doctor ordered.
And omg girlllll, seriously email me your address, and I’ll send you some; you’d LOVE them!
