This sounds like a pump-up post, doesn’t it? Like all motivational phrases and me telling you what a badass you are and how much you can accomplish when you set your mind to it.
Well, while I absolutely do believe that you are, in fact, a total badass and can do even more than you ever dreamed you were capable of, I wanted to write this post because lately I have been flying high on all the motivational/inspirational daily practices and content and just wanted to share some of it with you. Perhaps it will give you just the push you need to kick off this week with some self-confidence and positivity, or maybe it will just make you smile.
Special thank you to Meg for hosting this Week in Review, as always, so that I can share everything that inspired and motivated me last week.
Five Minute Journal
This is perhaps the singular most important and influential bullet point of this entire post. I am obsessed, and I am sure you will hear me talk about this little thing quite a bit in the future. So recently I have learned about dynamic power couple Mimi and Alex Ikonn. Perhaps you all know them already and are like, “How’s it been living under a rock, Nicole?” Listen. I don’t know. I’ve been ignorant, I admit. But I now atone for all my mistakes because I’ve been addicted to reading and listening to everything these two put out (you shall see a couple more items below). I already shared some podcast episodes in this post with Alex Ikonn, and one of them actually talked about this Five Minute Journal that he co-created with his business partner.
Basically, it’s a journal that encourages you to think positively and gratefully first thing in the morning, which then results in being more focused, productive, and just happier all around throughout the day. I’ve been using it for a week, and so far, I’m absolutely loving it.

Let It Out Podcast Episode 76 with Simi Botic
A MUST for anyone currently working towards intuitive eating or finding food freedom. I absolutely love any interview with Simi because she’s so honest and relatable, and Katie is a ray of sunshine. If you’re not listening to her podcast yet, what are you doing?
The Lively Show Episode 75 with Mimi Ikonn
Ah there’s Mimi again. I adored this post where Mimi was so honest and real about the journey that took her to the success she currently has. It’s truly an inspirational story, but what I love most about it is it doesn’t sound at all like a story of insane luck or incredible fortune. It’s honestly just a lot of hard work and dedication and never giving up on her dreams. That’s what I like to hear.
Peanut Butter Bliss Balls from JS Health
I made these last week and I love how simple, delicious, and nutritious they are. I also adore Jessica, and her website is full of inspiration, especially in the fields of wellness and business. Including this in here also because I hope it inspires you to make some healthy snack balls this week, which are such an easy and healthy snack, and also make you feel like a wellness god/goddess. 😉
How To Stop Procrastinating
Mimi again! Watch this now, and tell me you’re not in love with this gal. She’s so cool, and her advice is legit! And I feel like we could all use some help in this arena.
How To Be Successful
I mean, this is just begging to be clicked, isn’t it?
How To Live Your Dream Life
If anyone can talk about this topic, it’s Mimi who is definitely living her dream. Such a great video.
And this amazing quote that is basically my philosophy on life in a nutshell…
Workouts of the Week
Monday– long upper body strength routine +Â Pilates abs routine
Tuesday– abs, ass, and attitude workout (this one is so fun!)
Wednesday–Â this quick HIIT routine + this lower body strength and Pilates routine
Thursday–Â this rejuvenating and energetic yoga routine
Friday– this quick but intense upper body and cardio kickboxing routine (one of my faves!)
Saturday– rest
Sunday– hour-long Pilates routine
And that’s all for me today! Let me know if you like posts like this because I’ve got a couple ideas for the future that involve this post style. Okay love you all, go kick this week’s butt!

What’s been inspiring you lately?
Do you know who Mimi and Alex are? Are you obsessed with them?!
Cora says
Yup. This. Love this. Everything about it. When you mentioned Alex Ikonn in a previous post, I did go to the Lively show and try to find the episode, but couldn’t. So I’m so glad you’ve linked to some specific things here. Very very excited to check them all out. And no – if you have been living under a rock then I’ve been under that rock with you – you were the first time I’ve heard of Mimi and Alex.
Email coming your way soon.

I’d eat peanut butter in any form, but balls make everything better.
Starting each day on a positive note and with a grateful heart is always a wonderful thing and something I’ve tried (a gratitude journal) when I’m feeling particularly funky. Much like everything else, it works if you work it.

Hehe yay for balls! “Much like everything else, it works if you work it.” Right you are, Meg! I find that it works best when you do it before it becomes “necessary.” It’s like a preventative measure from getting into a funk
