Hey hey! I’m coming atcha with another Currently Loving post, and this one is pretty heavy on the recipes! I doubt you’ll mind, though. I mean, I for one would highly appreciate if someone would filter through all the recipes I currently have bookmarked and tell me which ones are actually life changing and I should make RIGHT NOW, and which ones I should wave sayonara to.
Anyone up for the job? ๐
Alright, let’s see what I’ve been loving lately!
Philz Coffee
So this is super meta because I’m currently sitting in Philz coffee writing this post. I’ve got a giant cup of coffee in front of me that is very necessary because I’m having one of those days where your brain inexplicably feels like someone stuffed cotton balls into it. Like you can’t think clearly, and you just feel slower and more blobby, and you just kinda stare blankly around for way too long? Can anyone relate?! Anyway, tangent. Back to Philz.
This is quickly becoming my favorite DC coffeeshop, and it’s super easy to get to from campus (I just hop on the free shuttle, and I’m there in 15 minutes!). I like to come here on Monday afternoons, after I finish myย one morning class. I set up camp with their reliable free wifi and some snacks and their freaking INCREDIBLE coffee (my order is always the iced Jacob’s Wonderbar, no sweetness, w/ oat milk), and I pound out several hours of work. Because sometimes you just gotta get the heck out of your bubble. Oh and then I walk back home, and it’s a glorious 45 minutes of admiring beautiful houses in some of DC’s most affluent neighborhoods. Always a fun time ๐
Healthy Pumpkin Pancakes
I’ve got a new favorite pancake recipe, y’all. I make sure to make pumpkin pancakes at least a few times in the fall, and of course I knew I had to do that first thing upon arriving home for the long weekend. Lucky for me, Monique had JUST posted this recipe a few days prior, so I knew I had to test it out. And it’s a winner, you guys. Definitely gonna be in my regular rotation!
They’re so perfectly fluffy, lightly sweet, and perfect with some almond butter and maple syrup for dipping. The best for a cozy fall weekend morning <3
Ooh would you want a post highlighting all my favorite pancake recipes? Or just some favorite go-to recipes in general? Your wish is my command, so let me know! ๐
Pumpkin Oatmeal
Okay, two pumpkin things in a row, but it’s October and I’m feeling all the fall vibes like crazy this year, so bear with me? Pumpkin oatmeal is another thing that I make every single fall without fail. Normally, all I do is add a 1/4 cup pureed pumpkin to my normal whipped banana oats. Topped with a dosage of almond butter (I love the combo of pumpkin with almond butter!) and some chocolate chips if I’m feeling zazzy!
If you haven’t added pumpkin to your oatmeal yet, DO IT! It’s so so good, is #fallvibes, and even sneaks in a dose of veggies! ๐
Pumpkin Spice Coffee
LOL I’m not even gonna defend myself. This coffee is the BEST seasonal find I’ve discovered at Trader Joe’s this fall. Period. And they have a TON of awesome stuff this year. I don’t usually go for flavored coffees, but I tried this one as a sample and fell in love. It’s not sweet at all; basically just the regular TJ’s beans but with some pumpkin spice blended in. YAS! I don’t even make coffee in college, so I bought a box to take home to NYC. That’s how much I loved it, you guys. And you better bet I made this in my French press my very first morning back, to have alongside the aforementioned pumpkin pancakes. It was pure pumpkin breakfast heaven.
Dancing
Ending on a super random one today, but it’s definitely something I’ve been loving lately. Dancing! Particularly in my room, with the door firmly shut, with whatever song I’m currently feeling, just fully letting loose and having fun. Honestly I randomly just had an urge to dance to this one song a couple weeks ago, and once I started I basically kept going with other songs until I realized it’s been 40 minutes, and my workout of the day was complete haha!
Great for cardio, stress relief, and just feeling yourself ๐ And it’s so much fun! I normally just do my own thing, just letting my body feel the music, but sometimes I follow The Fitness Marshall’s dance tutorials. They’re super quick and a BLAST! Let me know
if you try!
Some favorite songs to dance to: Seรฑorita, South of the Border, Never Really Over, Don’t Blame Me, Good for You. I’m constantly trying new ones though!
Also, if you read the last Currently Loving, I am still very much on that Office train ๐
Have a fantastic Tuesday, my loves, and say hi in the comments!!!

Dancing and pancakes are NECESSARY for the soul. Everytime I hear an early 2000s pop song from my childhood I am reminded how I need these nostalgic songs and how much I need to DANCE to remember who I am. It’s so powerful. I have a goal to put music on in my room more often and just dance like no one’s watching. Best. Medicine. Ever.
….and pancakes.
