Hey hey! We’re keeping it short and sweet today, as I am (yet again) in the midst of writing a paper. This past weekend was pretty exciting, and I’ve got a few different things to share that I’ve been loving lately, so let’s hop right in!
Halloween was this past Thursday, so my housemates and I had a wholesome night together to celebrate. I made this pumpkin banana bread and also this spiked cider, both of which rocked. Highly recommend making the pumpkin bread a day in advance! For the cider, I just used TJ’s spiced apple cider and heated it in a pot on the stove, and then added some more warm spices and some rum.
To round out the Halloween feast, I put out some random TJ’s goodies like dark chocolate covered caramel popcorn (I KNOW) and candy corn popcorn (surprisingly good!). Georgetown Bestie brought over some cake pops earlier, so we had those too, and they were bomb! (Starbucks ain’t got nothing on her).
I’ve been craving M&M’s for ages, but I never want a whole bag of them. I just wanted a couple at a time, you know? But then on my most recent TJ’s run, I found these natural M&M’s they have, and they came in a zip loc bag! Which means I can eat them at the glacial pace I normally take to eat candy (it’s honestly pathetic; I tend to forget about it LOL). And I’m actually kind of obsessed with these. Like, they might be better than the real deal, and I love that the pretty colors come from things like turmeric, spirulina, and beets!
Speaking of Halloween, I was a mouse. Just in case you couldn’t tell 😉
Which basically means I needed an excuse to wear one of my favorite dresses and just put on a pair of mouse ears. Alternatively, you could say I was a certain character from Mean Girls 😉
I have never not dressed up for Halloween, but this year, I really wasn’t feeling going full out like in prior years (last year I was Princess Leia and the year before was Catwoman!)
In fitness news, I recently did and loved this power yoga sequence, followed by this one that’s an old favorite. My arms were totally dead afterward. For hiit I quite enjoyed this new hiit and core sequence from the one and only Fitness Blender.
In podcast news, I’ve recently been getting back into podcasts after a brief hiatus where I just felt information overload and didn’t want to listen to anything but music. But I’ve been loving Chasing Joy and the new episodes of The Lively Show!
And that’s about it, you guys! Have an awesome week, and I’ll talk to you soon!
What did you dress up as for Halloween?
