Hello hello! Popping in here to share a quick day in the life WIAW post [summer edition style]! I hope you’ve all been enjoying the warmer weather, the extra day off this week, and the joy and abundance currently palpable in the air that often comes with summer.
I’ve been spending my days alternating between hard-core resting and having fun days out on the town. This day was one of the latter. Some friends from college came down to the city, and we all spent the day hanging out. I also decided to come to the city earlier to get some of my own errands done because I LOVE full mornings.
Here was last Sunday!
8am– Wake up to my Bad Blood alarm, feeling much more perky than I was expecting. Decide to go ahead with my plan to do a workout because I am actually feeling quite energetic.
8:15-9:15am– Do a total body Pilates routine from Blogilates (I just combine a few videos) and then do a leisurely cool down on my mat. Best part. 🙂
9:15-10:30am– Shower, get ready, and eat a leftover muffin from when I was recipe testing for Talia’s cookbook. I pair the muffin with some delish greek yogurt from Trader Joe’s and some juicy strawberries.
10:30-11:30am– Commute to Soho while devouring Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on the train. Yes, I carry that giant book with me the entire day just to read it on my hour-long commute. Much better than staring at my phone.
11:30-12:45pm– Shop around in Soho. First a quick pit stop at Whole Foods for some peanut butter and granola. Then Credo Beauty to get matched with a foundation so I can order online later. I end up staying at Credo much longer than anticipated because the sweet lady who worked there insisted on doing a bit of makeup on me. She did the foundation, bronzer, and blush, and I did not complain one bit. 😉 Also snack on a few handfuls of my granola. This granola is like crack by the way. It’s been 3 days, and the bag is almost done.
12:45-1:45pm– Go to one of my favorite nail salons Il Villaggio for a polish change. I end up sitting there much longer than necessary drying my nails because I get absorbed in Harry Potter LOL. Realize I’m running late and run out around the corner.
1:45pm-3pm– Meet up with my friends for brunch at Jane. I’ve been wanting to try this place for ages, and it did not disappoint. I had the kale and eggs, which had kale, eggs, quinoa, goat cheese, and almonds. I mean, does that not sound like the best combo?? Oh and coffee, duh.
3-7pm– Set up camp in The Uncommons and play board games until our brains are exhausted. What kind of board games do you guys like? I’m a big fan of games like Taboo where you have to think of words, or trivia-type games. Not so much games of strategy haha.
7-9pm– Go to The Grey Dog for dinner. I had the zucchini noodles that came with vegan pesto, vegan parmesan cheese, and some roasted tomatoes. Yum! Unfortunately, I forgot to take a pic, so here’s a pic of my dinner from the night before, which was this awesome cauliflower rice stir fry!
9-10pm– I accompany my buds to Morgenstern’s, which by the way has some of the best ice cream in NYC, but I don’t get anything because it doesn’t sound good today. Intuitive eating is about eating what you do want and not eating what you don’t. Of course, though, I’ve had the biggest craving for ice cream every day since then LOL. No worries, I already have upcoming plans to satisfy the urge. 😉
10-11pm– Commute home, armed with my trusty Harry Potter book.
11-1am– Putter around and do random odds and ends around the house. I think I had some veggies and hummus? And definitely some bedtime tea.
1am– BEDTIME!
Thanks for reading, y’all. Have a delicious Wednesday! <3
