Hi! I hope you guys aren’t too mad about my disappearance last week. My last post was last Monday, and I’d ended it saying I’d see you all for What I Ate Wednesday, but then that didn’t happen, and here we are today.
Let’s just say inspiration was slim, and I needed a proper rest and regroup, and once I got those, I was hit with a creative burst and drafted all the blog posts for this week. So this time, I really do mean when I say I’ll see you on Wednesday!
For now, I thought I could share some of my spring break with you in the form of Moments of Magic. It was quite a relaxing and chill break, as I purposely didn’t make too many plans. I knew I needed some recharging, and honestly, what sounded best to me before the break started was lying potato-style on my couch and watching The Crown. Which did happen. 😉
Let’s see what I was up to!
Moments of Magic
Enjoying the snow day
I was a bit annoyed about the snow storm at first because I had to move some plans around, but once I cleared my schedule and I awoke the day of to a pristine white blanket outside my window, I realized this was the perfect chance to R-E-L-A-X and practice some hygge. So I lit my new favorite candle, cozied up in my fluffy robe, and…binge-watched The Crown. And then did some cooking. And then some reading. All while watching the snow fall gently outside my window. It was as magical as it sounds, and I kind of want to do it all over again.
Trying soup dumplings for the first time
One of my friends found it preposterous that I’d never had soup dumplings, so he took me to get some from a place called Joe’s Shanghai in Chinatown in NYC. I think what was magical about this moment was the sheer novelty of it all. We sat at a large circular table with a bunch of strangers, and when they brought out the soup dumplings, my friend had to demonstrate how exactly to grasp them and eat them to make sure they didn’t break. Just reminded me how fascinating other cuisines often are and that I should definitely expand my palate more often.
Watching The First Time with a friend
We watched this in Whole Foods of all places because I had my laptop with me, and WF has generous seating AND free wifi (score!). This movie has been on my to-watch list for a while, but I like watching these kinds of movies with someone because sometimes you just need someone to “awwwww” with.
It was such a feel-good movie. Not too cheesy, pretty real, and just…cute. I loved it.
Savoring an almond milk latte at Birch Coffee while writing Thursday’s blog post
I do so love when I have the chance to write my blog posts in a leisurely manner, in a cozy place, with a delicious cup of coffee in front of me, but more often than not, I write them when I’m procrastinating doing homework late at night. This was such a nice change, and the words flowed quite naturally, though this is not an easy topic for me to discuss. I can’t wait for you to read it.
Also, Birch Coffee is totally worth the hype; their coffee rocks.
Walking through the almost empty campus a day before the end of spring break
It was so calm and quiet and somehow hauntingly beautiful. I just couldn’t get over it and now I sort of wish I always came the evening before the last day of break, but sometimes you just need that extra time at home.
Georgetown truly does have an air of magic about it that’s not always evident when it’s bustling with students, or when I myself am running like a headless chicken from one thing to the next. It’s  moments like these that remind me why I fell in love with it in the first place.
Workouts
Monday– this upper body strength and cardio workout and this quick kickboxing one
Tuesday– rest

Thursday– this upper body strength and kickboxing workout
Friday– rest/ walking around NYC

Have a lovely Monday, my loves, and I’ll see you back here on Wednesday!
Linking up with Meg for Week in Review

I remember the feeling of a university campus when most of the students were gone. I loved it. So peaceful and calming. And I always found it a new chance to actually converse with others and feel a closer sense of community. When everyone isn’t busy running around stressed and or partying. Aha.
So glad you took last week to relax and revive and follow how your body was feeling. Obviously it’s what you needed if you felt a re surge of creativity come back at the end of it. The proof is in the pudding!

Hehe thank you! And not dumpling soup, soup dumplings! The soup is INSIDE the dumplings! I know, I found it preposterous at first too. But you do need to try them!
