Today I’m recapping a day of eats from Friday. This one’s fun ’cause I was basically out of the house from 8am to 10pm, so a lot of meals were eaten out.
It was actually a pretty great day, filled with friend time, a fun workout class (fun is a term I use loosely btw), and lots of shopping with my mama 🙂
All my college kids know what a godsend it is to have your mom by your side armed with her credit card while shopping because it’s “been too long since she’s spoiled you.”
Thanks Mom!
Let’s get into the eats shall we?
I wasn’t going to eat until I got to the city, as I’m usually not too hungry when I first wake up (fasted training often happens for me for this reason) but today I was STARVING, so before running out the day I snagged one of Arman’s 4 ingredient brownies, which quieted the hanger a bit.
For breakfast, I met my best friend at a cute Australian cafe called Ruby’s in Soho. I’m actually low key obsessed with Australian cafes for breakfast/brunch.
Avocado toast, amazing eggs, acai bowls, awesome coffee, and those accents!
This was a Greek yogurt bowl with their homemade coffee granola and poached pears on top.
I normally hate pears but I guess poached they suddenly lose their grossness and gain some inexplicable awesomeness so I rolled with it.
Obviously paired this with an iced coffee with soy milk.
I had about an hour to digest this until my SLT workout class. I’d never been to this and kind of bought the class on a whim, but what it is is like a more hardcore crazy version of Pilates on machines called Megaformers, which admittedly look like they belong in the dungeon of a medieval king.
The class incorporated a lot of tiny muscle-searing movements but also some cardio.
You know those classes where during, you’re like AHHHH MAKE IT STOP but when it’s over you’re like “oh that was it? Hm, not too bad.”
Well I knew what I had coming when just a few hours later I felt that telltale tight feeling in my abs and legs, like a little precursor of the impending soreness of a lifetime.
And boy did it come.
Guys, my abs have never been this sore. I have a pretty strong core due to years of pilates by Blogilates, but this was a whole new animal.
The next day I felt all these teeny tiny muscles in my abs that I’d never felt before. It was alarming, but also awesome 😉
Anyway after the workout I had to make my way to work, but first I inhaled a couple more of Arman’s  brownies that I had smartly packed with me.
I was only needed at work for 2 hours, so I figured I’d treat myself to a mani/pedi since I had time before meeting my mom.
LOVE THIS COLOR
I was ready to eat the salon by the time I was done and my mom came, so we sprinted to the nearby Chobani cafe where I got myself my favorite PB&J yogurt bowl plus a decaf cappuccino from my favorite La Colombe.
Hit. The. Spot. And totally satisfied the raging beast in my belly.
Then came lots and lots of shopping, which worked up quite an appetite, of course, so I whipped out my handy RX bar and inhaled it in a fitting room of a lingerie store. #noshame
We got home only at 10pm, exhausted, hungry, but feeling quite proud of our purchases.
Side note: check out Sweaty Betty workout clothes! So nice!
I very quickly whipped up a shrimp and zoodle repeat dinner.
Was still hungry after this, so followed it up with another one of Arman’s brownies (four in one day heyyyy) and some fresh pineapple.
And that’s a wrap, y’all!
Xoxo,
Nicole
